things to do, weekend

Weekend Projects

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and found some fun things to do! I had a long list of things I wanted to get done this weekend. Some were more fun/creative and others were random tasks around the apartment. I felt like I had organized everything possible after the past couple weeks, but I was wrong. The three main projects I worked on this weekend were setting up our coffee/bar area, sorting through clothes/shoes to sell or donate, and tie dyeing!

The more I have been home, the more I have noticed things I want to change. One of those things ended up being our coffee area we have set up. We have always had a little table with our nespresso, toaster oven, and keurig on it. I was browsing on Urban Outfitters one day and saw a kitchen storage station. That is what ultimately inspired me. I ended up finding a similar one for way cheaper on Wayfair. I ordered it and it came a few days later. Connor set it up on Saturday and then I organized it with our coffee stuff and some bar items too! It looks so much better and helps us take advantage of more vertical space, which is nice for our little apartment.

The next project was sorting through clothing and shoes. I had a pretty large pile started from the first weekend of quarantine. Connor added some to it over the past couple weeks too. We decided it was time to go through our shoes and see what we didn’t like/weren’t wearing. We both found some and now our shoes look much less cluttered. I always find myself hanging onto shoes I don’t wear at all, so it was good to add those to the sell/donate pile.

The last project was probably the most exciting. As I mentioned in my last post, I love tie dye and I love that it is coming back. I gathered together a few things and also attempted to order a cute sweatshirt/sweatpants combo. Unfortunately with tie dye being so popular right now it is impossible to find white sweatpants. If anyone knows where I can get some, let me know! I got some dye and made a little set up in our laundry room with a couple trash bags layered on top of each other. I used yellow, green, pink, blue, and purple to dye all of my items. My favorite pieces that I made were the light blue sweatpants for my friend, Emi, the colorful socks, and a pink and purple sweatshirt.

What are some projects you have been working on during the quarantine? What should I work on next? Any recommendations would be great because I am running out of ideas and things to work on. Have a great week!
