What’s Happening Right Now

This post is going to be all over the place, but organized at the same time. I recently posted about it being my last semester of college and about my goals for 2018. I thought it would be fun to do a little update on those things and just what has been going on in my life lately. It is kind of funny because each day something new pops into my head and I write it in my notes. I am constantly thinking of potential blog post ideas or just random things I want to talk about with someone. I feel like writing things down right when you think of them, either in a notebook or in your phone can be super helpful and keep you inspired. Now on to what I was actually planning to talk about.

How My Resolutions are Going

Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with how my goals are going. I knew when writing them I probably wouldn’t keep up with all of them, but I am keeping up with a good part of them, so I am really happy. My life feels organized and happy. I am reading almost every day, which I will get more into later. I am allocating time for work almost everyday, which is good for my career development, but also my wallet. Spending money was going well until I had to order a bunch of stuff for school, but otherwise it is going ok! I just purchased a journal that I have started writing in every week. It gives some prompts, so it is easy to find inspiration. I have been smiling at strangers and friends of course a lot. I will walk home from class and see how many people smile back or even acknowledge me. It is a little sad because most people just look down. I don’t know why we are afraid of each other lol. As of now, those are all the things I can think of, but I am happy with how they are all going.

I wanted to talk a bit about school in this post, but that just sounds boring and I will save it for another time.

Like I mentioned earlier, I have been reading. By reading I mean books for fun, and my own enjoyment. It’s funny because the book I am currently reading is actually for a class, but I really enjoy it. I think I briefly talked about it a few posts ago. It is called “Where Am I Eating?” by Kelsey Timmerman. It is a really cool book, and definitely opens your eyes up to things you don’t think about when it comes to where you are getting your food. I definitely appreciate the bananas I get to eat a lot more. I have also picked up a few other books to read, ranging from personal growth type books to fiction. So I am VERY excited to get started on those.

My boyfriend got me wireless Beats for my birthday and I love them. I have been listening to a lot of music lately because of them. I have been listening to LANCO (country group), Moon Taxi (which my mom actually told me about), Grace VanderWaal, and a bunch of random music I used to listen to in middle school.

Food and Restaurants

If you are ever at IU there are a few restaurants you have to go to, so I thought I would mention them now because I love these places. For sushi, Ami is the place to go. It is my favorite restaurant. I also love Rush Hour Station, Anatolia, and My Thai. However, because of my money saving goal, I have been mostly making things to eat. I have been having a lot of avocado toast. If you haven’t tried the Everything Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joes, you need to. I sprinkle it on top. I have been having pasta a lot too because it is easy and filling. I rediscovered my love for plain Greek yogurt, so that is exciting. I used to eat it all the time freshman year, but I think I got bored of it. Obviously, I am not a chef and these aren’t complicated meals, but regardless, they are delicious.

Hope you all made it through this long post and enjoyed it! Let me know what music you are listening to, good books you are reading/have read, and how your goals are coming along!

  1. I’ve been reading almost every night before bed, and I think it’s one way I’ve been keeping my sanity. I started getting back into chick-lit/romance books, and so far haven’t found a book I hated. I really like Melissa Tagg’s books, and I really liked “Until It Fades” by KA Tucker and “Second Chance Season” by Liora Blake. Goodreads is such a good way to keep track of what I’ve read and want to read.

    1. I love reading before bed because I feel like I always stay up way too late on my phone, but reading is just way more relaxing. I just downloaded Goodreads and I am so excited! I don’t know why I have never heard of it! Thank you for mentioning it!!

      1. I only started really using Goodreads a few months ago. It’s great to keep track of books I’ve read in case the authors have other books, and the “want to read” shelf is helpful when I go to the library so I’m not wandering around trying to find books.
