Hey everyone. My boyfriend, Connor, has been trying to help me come up with topics for my blog lately. I jokingly told him he was my blog assistant even though I definitely don’t need one. One thing he suggested was interviews with people I find interesting, knowledgeable, etc. I think it is a great idea and super fun, so I decided I would interview him to practice.
If you didn’t know, I just moved in with Connor. We are in a cute little apartment in Chicago living the dream working all day and attempting crock pot meals at night. I have been dating him for almost 2.5 years and we met my sophomore year of college. I feel like that is enough of an introduction. Now here’s to the “interview.”
Question 1: What is your favorite part of living in Chicago?
“All of the different kinds of people you meet. There is more diversity here than anywhere else I lived, even after going to IU where there were a lot of students from different places. You really see it on a larger scale here.”
Question 2: How do you stay positive when you are having a bad day?
“I think about how many people would want to be in the position I am in and I try to be grateful for where I am.”
Question 3: What are you currently reading? And what is your favorite book?
“I am reading Tribes by Seth Godin– its about leadership and how you can lead anywhere and how there is a lack of leaders in the world. My favorite kids book is “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein and my favorite fiction book is “The Poisonwood Bible” by Barbara Kingsolver and my favorite nonfiction book is “Creativity Inc” by Ed Catmull.
Question 4: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
“Madagascar– you can find environments there, you wouldn’t find anywhere else in the world. It is more isolated, almost untouched by man.”
Question 5: What is your personal mission statement?
“I want to travel the world and show people why they should too.”
Question 6: What is your favorite food? And your favorite restaurant?
“I don’t really have a favorite food, but I guess it would be pasta, any kind of pasta. I don’t really have a favorite restaurant either.” — clearly not a foodie like me lol
That concludes my first interview. It is a bit short and random, but I am writing this dangerously close to my 9pm bed time (it is 8:52). See you all in my next post 🙂
