An Update On My 2020 Goals

2020 has certainly been interesting so far. I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! I thought it would be a good time to reflect on where I am at with my goals for this year.

Here are my goals that I wrote out in January and an update on each:

-launch my podcast (YAY!!): I launched my podcast the first week of the new year. I posted 7 episodes and recorded more than that. As of now I am not podcasting. I realized that I am not super passionate about it and I would rather just listen to podcasts. I may start podcasting again someday, but for now I am not.

blog at least once a week: I have blogged every Tuesday this year and I don’t plan on stopping!

read 10 books (I think I only read 3 in 2019 which is not great haha): I have read 4 books so far and have many more to dive into. I didn’t read much in February since I was traveling so much, but now I will be home a lot more with more free time to read.

talk less and listen more: I am not exactly sure how to measure this. But I have noticed myself trying to do this which is a good step!

travel to 5 new places (I have one trip (to a new place) planned so far, and hopefully Utah or Vermont will happen this year!!): I have traveled 5 or 6 times this year but none of the destinations were new. I am still hoping to meet this goal, but we will see where the year takes us. Unfortunately I had to cancel my trip to Europe in April, so 3 of the new places I planned on will have to wait. Once it is safer to be traveling, I hope to explore a bunch of new places.

run a race: I have been running a little bit but I haven’t signed up for any races yet!

practice drawing (I want to be more creative and I like drawing): I doodle a lot, but I haven’t sat down to draw. I did download Procreate on my iPad, so that should be fun! I have been creative in other ways by working on my adventure/travel memory book. I am going to do a full post on my memory book soon!

make more sustainable choices (actually remember my reusable straw, bring my own coffee cup, etc.): I have not been as good about this as I would like to be. I haven’t forgotten my reusable shopping bags for any grocery runs which has been good, but other than that I am still guilty of using straws at some places and not bringing my reusable coffee cup. I am going to make this a priority!! What are some of your favorite sustainable items that you use every day?

How are you doing with your 2020 goals? What have you made the most progress on? And what are you hoping to tackle next? Thanks for reading and talk soon 🙂 I appreciate all of you!
