Miami Day 2

Surprise!! Two posts for this week!

Day 2 in Miami started at the Salty Donut, which is my favorite donut shop in Miami. We got 3 donuts to try and share: Strawberry Shortcake, Vegan Pear Butter & Almond, and Brown Butter & Salt. My favorite and recommendation is the Strawberry Shortcake. It is seriously so good! I was able to pick up some cute postcards there too, which was fun!

After donuts we walked around Wynwood to check out the new murals and go into some shops. My favorite shop we went into was Frangipani. It was full of cute home decor, jewelry, cards, and gifts. We also stopped into Yoko Matcha for a matcha latte. I got the Matcha Rosa and Connor got the Military Latte. The rest of our time in Wynwood was spent exploring. Every time I go to Miami I see a new mural and it feels like Wynwood keeps getting bigger. I could spend a whole weekend in Wynwood for sure.

Litte Havana was next on the agenda. There was a parade going on in Little Havana so we walked along the parade and watched it as we walked down Calle Ocho. We grabbed a snack at Ella’s Oyster Bar. Connor got oysters and I had some coconut cherry rice. We also shared some plantains. We went into a few shops and then walked around enjoying the sunshine. Eventually we were sweating so much that we called an Uber to our next destination: The Wharf.

The Wharf was awesome! I already can’t wait to go back. It is a fun bar with various food vendors along the water. There is a main bar area and then seating all throughout. When we were there, there was a duck themed brunch and it looks like they have other fun events like that which was cool. We each had a mojito and hung out there for an hour or two. I would highly recommend the wharf and think it would be super fun for a boozy brunch with friends.

Our last stop of the day was Lucali. Lucali is a pizza place we went to in New York and it is some of the best pizza. We decided to go in Miami to compare the two. I personally liked the Miami location better. We didn’t have to wait hours to go and the pizza was just as good. The menu is bigger there too which was nice. After dinner we headed to the Fort Lauderdale airport to end off the trip.

The whole weekend was relaxing and refreshing. It is fun going to Miami because we are able to try new things, but also go back to some of our favorite spots. I really enjoy that I have learned my way around a little bit too. I am already looking forward to my next visit!
