My Best Habits

Happy Wednesday! I saw the word habit on Instagram the other day and that’s where this short post came from. I am always trying to build healthy and positive habits. I feel like they can change sometimes, but these are the ones I am always good about.

1. Drinking a ton of water

2. Going to bed by 9 or 10 to get at least 8 hours of sleep

3. Putting my phone away at work and not letting it be a distraction

4. Flossing daily- this is something I have been trying to make a habit for a long time, so yay!!

5. Making a healthy breakfast to bring to work each day, except Wednesday’s because that is bagel day!

6. Listening to a podcast each morning to put me in a good mood

7. Writing down my goals

8. Making to-do lists each morning or the day before to stay organized and prioritize my day

What are some of your most positive habits? What do you do each day to be productive, healthy, or happy?

  1. I’m trying to get back into the habit of reading before I go to bed at night. I’ve been staying up to catch up on shows in my DVR or watching Hallmark movies, so by the time I actually get into bed, it’s too late for me to read.

    I always bring a travel mug of tea with me to work each morning, so that’s something I look forward to. (And is a good way to warm up if the office is cold.) I’ve been drinking Bigelow tea, either in vanilla chai, cinnamon, or pumpkin spice.

    I’ve been listening to my podcasts at work, and if I can get through a few episodes during the day, then I know it’s been productive. But I also like being able to get out of the office and go to events to take pictures. One of the campus organizations is bringing in therapy dogs for stress relief on Thursday before finals start next week and I’m 110% going to take pictures for social media… and play with the dogs. I’m also getting in the habit of using the calendar in my Outlook work email because there are events coming up and I’ve been attending more meetings, so I need to make sure I know where I need to be!

    1. I need to get back to reading before bed too, but I always end up watching tv and then falling asleep right after haha. I go to bed so early that I should be able to stay up a bit to at least read a little, but I’m always so tired.

      Going to events and taking photos sounds fun! I bet the dog event will be so adorable! I wasn’t a big fan of outlook until my job now and it really helps me get organized and plan out my day.

      1. It’s hard not to get caught up watching something at night, and that screws up going to bed on time. Even if I can read for 15 minutes before bed, I consider that a win.

        Since the semester is winding down, there aren’t too many events left before break starts, but the spring semester is always full of events that I’m excited about. Plus I look enough like a college student that I can try to get free food haha. My old job had Gmail and GSuite, and it seems like Gmail and Outlook both have their pros and cons. But I think I like Outlook a little more for work; I have a personal Gmail and I think it works fine for that.
