A Sunday in Chicago

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend and are ready to tackle a new week. I had a really nice weekend and wanted to share a little bit of what I did on Sunday. Sunday might be my favorite day of the week because I can sleep in, relax, clean up a bit, and explore with Connor! Today we did all of those things!

I slept in the latest I have in awhile, until about 10. We got back from our day trip to Iowa at about 12:30am so I was pretty tired. Connor treated us to some donuts from one of my favorite places in Chicago, Stan’s Donuts. We shared the raspberry lemon and a red velvet Oreo donut. They were both really good! After that, we walked around hunting for bookstores to go to. We found a really cool one the weekend before, so we knew we could find more.

We stopped in a couple places and I got us a tiny bit lost a few times, but I honestly just love walking around our area of Chicago. Then we stopped home for a little snack before our next adventure. We decided to head over to a bookstore I found online that was packed with books! So we headed that way.

On our way there, I saw some cute things that caught my eye in a window near the bookstore. We stopped in there first and it was such a cute shop. It is called Foursided Card + Gift and it had adorable cards, little gifts, artwork, crystals, etc. I am already excited to go back!

Then we headed into the bookstore, called The Bookman’s Corner. It was loaded with books (see the photo below) so it was fun to look around and see what we could find. After that, we concluded the day at Trader Joe’s to get a few groceries. We grabbed some bagels, I got a kombucha because I missed it, and few other things! Once we got home, we cleaned up and did some dishes. We made some dinner and some dessert- a pancake mug cake with Nutella and peanut butter. It was amazing. Hope you all had a great weekend! What did you do?

  1. Those donuts look yummy! It’s great that you’re exploring Chicago, and I feel like I’m there right along with you haha. I worked all weekend at the ice cream shop and it wasn’t too busy. I also went for a run and finished a book, so I’d say it was a pretty good weekend.

    1. I definitely recommend Stan’s Donuts if you ever venture out to Chicago! I’m glad you feel like thats— That’s the best compliment ever 🙂 that sounds like a really nice weekend. Running and reading are two things I haven’t been doing enough lately!
