CHICAGO, LIFE

First Day In Chicago

I am officially blogging from Chicago. Well actually, the IKEA nearby. Regardless, my boyfriend and I have moved into our cute little apartment. We have a lot to unpack still but things look like the are starting to come together. We both start work Monday morning so we are going to try to get as much unpacked as possible tonight and tomorrow morning so we can relax a minute before work.

Here’s a look at how my day went:

I woke up around 6am and got the stuff we didn’t take to Chicago on Friday all ready to be loaded. I made some toast, said goodbye to my dog, and finally goodbye to my sister.

Connor and I drove to Chicago with a brief stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for some caffeine.

We arrived at our apartment and each of our parents were already there. They had already unloaded and built some things so that was awesome. I am really thankful they took time out of their Saturday to help us out. My parents had to leave to help my sister move back to her college place, but Connor’s parents stayed throughout the afternoon

We grabbed lunch after unpacking a bit more at a place called Poke Burrito, which I guess was new. We met up with my friend/cousin for Connor, Riley too because he is also in Chicago, so he came to lunch with us. I got a poke bowl with white rice, tofu, sweet onion, sweet corn, ginger, seaweed salad, edamame, avocado, and sesame seeds. It was really tasty and hit the spot.

Then Connor’s parents, Connor, and I headed to IKEA. We spent awhile in there and got a few things.

After IKEA, we headed back to our apartment and unpacked more.

Now we are back at IKEA waiting for our “after hours pick up.” It has taken forever so I don’t recommend, but it’s better than coming back tomorrow morning!

Overall, it was a really nice day and we are so lucky and grateful our families could help us out so much. So excited to be in Chicago for a little while and to be done packing lol.
