My New Years Resolution

**really random & short post**

I am going to floss twice a day every day. I know I should already, but some days I just make excuses not to. That is my latest New Years resolution. I know it’s not January 1st, but I believe if you want to change something, there is no point in waiting.

I have been doing a great job with my resolution so far and it can only benefit me by starting a little bit early. You don’t have to wait for a special day like New Years to make a change or begin good habits. You don’t have to wait until Monday to “start over” on setting or reaching a goal.

Why not start today? That is the best question to ask when you want to make a lifestyle change for the better.

I know my trips to the dentist will be far less painful because of this.

Embrace Change

It is weird to look back and think about the person I used to be. It’s crazy how often things change and how different one year or even one month can make a person.

I have definitely changed over the years, especially since my first year of college. There are many things and changes that I am so happy about, but other things I am still not used to yet.

Back when I started this blog, about 1.5 years ago, I was probably the happiest, most positive version of myself. I was barely stressed, didn’t worry about anything, and felt very in control of my life.

I am still a positive person and strive to make every day better than the last, but stress has caught up to me. Maybe it is just because it is my junior year of college and everything I do now pretty much sets me up for real life. I find myself wishing I was more like myself a couple years back, but I know that I am just a bit different now and things have changed since then. I don’t think I have been embracing change the way I would like to be.

I do believe change is good and it is important to learn to embrace it. I am still so young and have so much to learn and experience. Positive changes, experiences, and opportunities are out there waiting for me grab hold of them.

Thanksgiving is coming up and I couldn’t be more excited to spend time with my family and have a short break from school before it gets crazy during the final weeks of the semester. I am pretty sure I made a post similar to this EXACTLY one year ago, so that is fun to look back on.

I am thankful for so many things in my life, and it can be hard to remember that when all I can think about is deadlines, finding a summer internship, exams, and more.

I am thankful for my family who is supportive of me in all that I do. And my dog.

I am thankful for my friends who bring so much fun to my life, even in the most stressful of times.

I am thankful for my school. Even when I hate going to class, school ends up being kind of fun.
